PISA scores at a new low

Young people in Germany are achieving their lowest scores in science, reading and mathematics since the PISA studies started. As a result, Germany now ranks only at the average level of OECD countries. About one-fifth of 15-year-olds lack sufficient basic skills in any of the three areas. The correlation between young people’s science skills and their families’ socioeconomic status is stronger than ever before.
